The celebration of Thanksgiving Day you should know.

Thanksgiving Day celebration or 'Thanksgiving' is often celebrated on 26 November. This celebration is a national holiday in the United States and Canada. For your information, this celebration is not a religious ceremony but rather a cultural celebration for the people there to express gratitude to God.

History of Thanksgiving Day celebration comes from the tradition of the British in New England which welcomed it as a sign of gratitude for the end of the harvest of crops.

Then the celebration was adopted in the United States initiated from indigenous groups there and became an official holiday of the United States since 1863.

Here are some facts about the celebration of 'Thanksgiving' many may not know:

1. Only officially celebrated in two countries, namely the United States and Canada. America will celebrate the fourth Thursday in November and in Canada on the second Monday in October. Other countries such as Liberia, Grenada and Saint Lucia also viewed celebrating the same traditions.

2. By tradition they were always hanging out with family and friends for a meal together and expressing gratitude about what you have achieved in life for that year.

3. Most Americans will serve turkey and cranberry on Thanksgiving celebration. One popular turkey recipes called 'Turducken', ie boneless turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed with a chicken and then also removed bone. This recipe comes from Louisiana.
